I thought it might be a fun project to snap a photo and post a blurb each day for a year as way to keep in touch with family and friends who are far away. And as a way to stop and smell the roses as they say. Even though in Chicago, for much of the year, the roses are covered in ice and snow and are often peed on by dogs.

That seems to be heading our way tomorrow, or something of the like! Happy Shoveling to all and to all a cold night/car/nose/fill in the blank!
anonymous here is Jillian :)
Wow. We got flurries all morning, too, but nothing like that.
Here's my introduction back down south: It had been snowing for 45 minutes when I left for campus, not even enough to cover the ground. In my ten-minute drive, I passed five wrecks, including a flipped car in the median. Oh my, people.
Oh I remember that. In Northern Virginia, a half inch of snow was headline news (as if nothing else goes on in the DC area.) :) Still--I think I'd rather live where snow was such a rare thing that people start doing flips in the air when it happens (even in their cars-sheesh-hope they were ok).
