It's electric
One of my students read one of her stories aloud today. It was about her education in a one room schoolhouse in northern Minnesota. They had no electricity and the teacher would call them back from recess by playing a John Phillip Sousa song on her windup record player. It kind of blew my mind.

Hey Sis, Where are you teaching at? I feel bad that I am your brother and don't know this.
I'm teaching writing at a retirement home. Just every other week. And no worries. Dan and Elizabeth asked what you were doing for the military and Eric had to tell them because I got it all wrong. :) I think I have job blindness. I can never remember what anyone does...
