I thought it might be a fun project to snap a photo and post a blurb each day for a year as way to keep in touch with family and friends who are far away. And as a way to stop and smell the roses as they say. Even though in Chicago, for much of the year, the roses are covered in ice and snow and are often peed on by dogs.

For those curious, that check is made out for $536.49, quite a bill from Verizon.
It's rather curious, however, that the author of the check opted to add .002 (a fifth of a cent) since that didn't affect the rounding.
I figured it must have been expensive! :)
Chris-- for being such a math nerd I'm surprised by your poor calculation. The check is worth 0.002 dollars. 0.002 + (-1) + (1). I'm guessing you misread the i for a 2.
