My dear (not so) old dad took this photo and sent it to me today. It is a.) hilarious and b.) a taste of what is headed to Chicago. I don't know whether to laugh or to cry.

I thought it might be a fun project to snap a photo and post a blurb each day for a year as way to keep in touch with family and friends who are far away. And as a way to stop and smell the roses as they say. Even though in Chicago,for much of the year,the roses are covered in ice and snow and are often peed on by dogs.
