I thought it might be a fun project to snap a photo and post a blurb each day for a year as way to keep in touch with family and friends who are far away. And as a way to stop and smell the roses as they say. Even though in Chicago,for much of the year,the roses are covered in ice and snow and are often peed on by dogs.

Looks like a Peregrine Falcon to me also. We used to have them when we lived downtown and they would prey on pigeons...
Any bird that feeds on pigeons is a friend of mine!
