I thought it might be a fun project to snap a photo and post a blurb each day for a year as way to keep in touch with family and friends who are far away. And as a way to stop and smell the roses as they say. Even though in Chicago, for much of the year, the roses are covered in ice and snow and are often peed on by dogs.

jessie,
DON'T Burn Out!
take a day off if necessary, but some of us get a vicarious thrill watching your enjoyment of Chicago & life.
Item 2 -- Is this your yard?
:) Thanks Bill, for the encouragement.
I WISH that #2 was my yard. I love that chief with a pinwheel. He stands outside the Edgebrook tobacco shop. We pass him on long walks on nice days.
I need to get Life on the Mississip from you! I'll give a heads up next time I'm up your way.
Hope to see you guys soon!
Awww, they're such cute little critters! Is this birdhouse in your yard?
Yep. the bird feeder is ours. Let me tell you, those cute little critters are PIGS!
