Someone once told me that deer are very sophisticated and clever. All I know is that today when I came outside and this one spotted me, it ran to hide behind this tree.

I thought it might be a fun project to snap a photo and post a blurb each day for a year as way to keep in touch with family and friends who are far away. And as a way to stop and smell the roses as they say. Even though in Chicago,for much of the year,the roses are covered in ice and snow and are often peed on by dogs.

Remember when we came to Chicago to visit and we saw that deer in the middle of the city? CRAZY! I wonder if it is the same smart deer? I would have chosen the lamp pole, because it is a little wider, but I bet the deer wanted to blend in with the brown, trunk of the tree-never would have thunk it!
